Integration of the frontiers of molecular design, synthesis and analysis is the foremost goal of this COE. In this way, we will construct a new paradigm for research and training in the chemical sciences. Five REC units will be constructed as illustrated below. Experienced faculty members at the forefront of synthetic and analytic chemical research will attract young talented chemists to these REC units, producing an atmosphere of free discussion and collaboration in research and graduate education.
